Baby BeeHinds was started in Townsville in 2004 by Davina Casey when she sewed nappies for her daughter and it soon grew into one of Australia's best known nappy brands. Davina and Patrick handed the reins over to Sydney based Andrew in August 2011 and Baby Beehinds continues as a 100% Australian owned family business. Update Feb 2014: Leanne & Luke are the proud new owners of Baby Beehinds and committed to building on this great Aussie brand.
All Baby Beehinds products are produced via fair trade means and fibres for the natural fabrics are grown without the use of pesticides, using renewable resources.
Baby BeeHinds products are manufactured in China, and they are extremely proud of their amazing manufacturers who have exclusively made BBH products for the past 7-8 years. The decision to outsource the manufacture of BBH nappies to China was not made lightly, and there was an huge amount of effort put in to choosing a family owned factory which provided ethical working conditions and pay.
Baby Beehind's manufacturers have been audited and approved by the organisation 'Fair Wear Foundation'. Unfortunately the FWF currently only works with European Companies, and as such Baby BeeHinds is not yet able to also be accredited with the FWF. Baby Beehind's manufacturers also follow the Oeko Tex Standard 100 (environmentally friendly production at every stage of production) and has also acquired IMO GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard - this standard includes both ecological and social criteria and is independently tested) certification and the OE (Organic Exchanged) blend standard.
Baby Beehinds are committed to only and always support ethical manufacturing in China for their products.
