It’s hard to believe but 14 May 2011 is exactly one yearsince we took over the reins of Darlings Downunder from Tania. It’s been asteep learning curve, but a fantastic ride at the same time.
There’s a lot of hard work involved in running a businessfrom home, but we love it!
We’ve developed an awesome set of new skills (accounting,event management, contract negotiation, inventory control & market researchamong others), met - virtually and in real life - the great mums that run thecloth nappy businesses in Australia and overseas, and tested dozens of nappiesand other products in our quest to source the best nappies for our customers.
Ah, our customers! Newbie or repeat customers – it’s greatgetting to know you. Some of you think you ask too many questions, but youdon’t (hey, we were just like you a few years ago!). Your questions help usbecome better at our job. You are the ones who determine the direction DarlingsDownunder takes – you let us know what information we need to provide, whatyou’re looking for in a nappy, and your opinions on the new products that wetrial. We especially stand in awe of those customers with cloth nappyexperience who have the generosity to share that experience with others. Thankyou.
We are striving to beat our own path, with no jumping on thelatest fad or fashion if it doesn’t meet a need of our customers or pass ourtesting process. We want to build a sustainable and financially responsiblebusiness that will continue to allow us to stay home with our children and willprovide great service and the best products.
We have lots of new ideas in the works at Darlings Downunder– we can’t wait to see what the next year will bring. Come along for the ride?
