We'd like to introduce ourselves as the new owners of Darlings Downunder. We are sisters from Melbourne, with five children between us and a lot of nappy experience.
We look forward to continuing the fantastic customer service and advice that Darlings Downunder is known for. We'll be updating the blog regularly, so please check back for new posts and sign up for our monthly newsletter which is full of useful information and the latest specials.

1 Comment [+] | Entry LinkSee us at the Pakenham Sustainability Expo Saturday 12 June 2010Posted in 'Out & About' on May 21, 2010, 7:34 pm Darlings Downunder will be exhibiting at the Pakenham (Vic) Sustainability Expo on Saturday 12 June 2010. Come along and see a variety of sustainable products and services including, of course, ours! The Expo is being held at the Cardinia Cultural Centre, Lakeside Boulevard, Pakenham on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 June, but if it's our nappies you want, then please note we will only be there for the Saturday.
The Expo opens at 10am and closes at 4pm and is a no plastic bag, no palm oil and no bottled water event - so don't forget your bag and drink bottle. And entry is FREE! We'll be selling nappies as well as exhibiting them so if you're planning on coming and you want us to bring something specific (because, unfortunately, we can't bring everything), then let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate. We hope to see you there!

Darlings Downunder recently caught up with Catherine Langman at Cushie Tushies to talk about their brand. How & when did Cushie Tushies start? The original Cushie Tushie was designed back in July 2005 when founder, Shell Fowler, gave birth to her first son. Our business incorporated in February 2008 and we have not looked back since! Who makes Cushie Tushies nappies and where are they made? Shell used to make Cushie Tushies in house, but after we established our joint business in 2008, demand took off and we had to look at outsourcing. An exhaustive search around Australia proved fruitless, so we turned to the country where the bamboo and minky fabrics originate from – China. We now have a small team of women in China, mostly mothers themselves, who now sew our designs for us.What's your most important business philosophy? Honesty :) We try hard to be open and transparent in all our business endeavours, whether that be with ourselves, with our customers or our suppliers.What do you like most about your work? There is constantly a new challenge – sometimes this is annoying but mostly I love it as I never have time to get bored!Is there anything new happening at Cushie Tushies in the future? Yes – we are currently testing our new swimming nappy and have plans for a couple of other new products in the near future! We also have an exciting new development in the Basix range, but that is still top secret. You will have to stay tuned!Thank you, Cath!
